Protecting the planet

Dealing with waste is currently a hot topic here in the news, so we at Fresh we are

considering ways of using less plastics in our products. This is particularly difficult when we

need water holding materials whether floral foam or cellophane. We can arrange flowers in a

glass vase so it may be reused after the flowers have died. Requests for minimal packaging

can be satisfied with natural fibre ribbons being used for bows instead of the waterproof

florist's ribbons we regularly use.

Flowers for sympathy and respect

A few casket spray designs in varying shades and flowers. As a final tribute there are no rules when using flowers to show your love and respect when a person passes.
Flowers are often chosen because the deceased loved a certain flower such as red roses or daffodils.

Often colours are chosen to reflect a personality, strong bright blooms or softer more feminine shades.

It always surprises me when pink is chosen for a male and blue for a lady...the latter may be more to do with the local football team, Manchester City!

Coming from a different angle

Coming from a different angle

Sometimes flowers can create a mood or can convey a personality.
Here are some images of ultimate tributes to honour a gentleman's life. Whilst not traditional  and possibly not to everyone's taste they were appropriate for this individual and event.
The colours and flower types were mostly chosen by the family, the designs were left to me.

So if you want something a little bit unusual speak to your florist, who will be able to source unique and stylish flowers and foliages.

Macrame seems to have made a re appearance and so I have been trying out knotting with updated materials (rather than the brown dull string of yesteryear). It's all work in progress at the moment and is constantly developing. Funky neon pink, green and purple cord holding clear glass fish bowls is the direction it's heading….Watch this space!

Next direction is to add chunky beading for another texture.I will be looking for something suitable.

Brooches

Apparently brooch wearing is again back in fashion.
Remember the 80's?
Today there are amazing designs for little dosh and will glam up a plain dress or jacket for a night out. Sparkle has been back with a vengeance for day wear as well as evening. What better than to jazz up your jacket complete with shoulder pads and turned back cuffs to remember the good old days of the 1980s?
